Pancharevo Lake
Pancharevo Lake is an artificial lake, located just 15 km southeast of Sofia , on the way to Borovets resort. The captivating Pancharevo Lake is located at the end of the Pancharevo Gorge of the Iskar River, 600 m above sea level between the Vitosha and Lozenska planina mountains. It is situated in the Pancharevo quarter.
The lake is about 5 km long and 1 km wide and offers plenty of opportunities for sports and recreation activities.
Do you wish to taste something different, but serene and relaxing? There you can walk and submerge in the beautiful nature, an hour or so and you will be completely restored both physically and emotionally.
After you have explored a guided city tour with a visit to the most interesting landmarks of Sofia, you may enjoy spending a couple of hours at the Pancharevo Lake, it has a lot to offer. In other words, the lake is close enough to Sofia and at the same time you feel like getting far away from the hectic city life.
The lake is suitable spot for sun- bathing, fishing and water sports - swimming, surfing, rowing and water skiing. Water wheels can also be hired. Around the lake there are hiking trails, several park areas with coffee shops and restaurants. What you may just opt for is a lunch at a restaurant overlooking the magnificent lake. All restaurants offer cozy atmosphere and delicious Bulgarian dishes. The incredible nature of this place will capture you and make your visit unforgettable.
Otherwise, if you are a keen fisherman, you can hang out there. Please, have in mind that you have to carry your fishing permission.
Near the lake, hot mineral springs are located. The temperature of the water is 47 degrees Celsius.
